Acquisition expands ATC’s sustainable remanufacturing capability in Europe.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN (May 01, 2023) –
Global independent remanufacturer of powertrain and drivetrain products across traditional ICE, hybrid and EV technology, ATC Drivetrain (“ATC”), has announced its acquisition of Mack GmbH (“Mack”), a leading remanufacturing company in Europe, based in Waldenburg, Germany.
With shared principles of sustainability through remanufacturing, ATC and Mack will leverage combined competencies to continue developing processes that extend the life span of existing products, reduce waste and contribute more meaningfully to the circular economy. The acquisition includes Mack’s new energy-efficient German facility, featuring solar power generation that will support ATC’s activities to reduce the overall carbon footprint of its manufacturing operations.
Greg Heald, President and CEO of ATC Drivetrain, states, “We are excited to expand ATC’s footprint into continental Europe through the acquisition of Mack GmbH. This important milestone aligns with our mission to build a company that positively impacts our customers and the environment.”
Heald continued, “The integration of ATC and Mack’s resources, products and capabilities will expand the ability for ATC to deliver market leading technologies for remanufacturing a full range of products from EV to traditional powertrain and drivetrain components and systems from Mack’s state-of-the-art facility in Germany. ATC is continuing to build upon our global network of production facilities to support our customers and their global operations.”
Walter Mack, founder of Mack GmbH, added, “The combination of Mack and ATC is very exciting for everyone involved as it joins two longtime forces in the automotive industry, combining rich histories and opening up many possibilities for the future.”
