The brand refresh includes an official name change to ATC and an updated logo.
Founded in 1938 as Fred Jones Manufacturing, the company has operated as ATC Drivetrain since 2008. Acquisition expands ATC’s sustainable remanufacturing capability in Europe.

Global independent remanufacturer of powertrain and drivetrain products across traditional ICE, hybrid and EV technology, ATC Drivetrain (“ATC”), has announced its acquisition of Mack GmbH (“Mack”), a leading remanufacturing company in Europe, based in Waldenburg, Germany.
With shared principles of sustainability through remanufacturing, ATC and Mack will leverage combined competencies to continue developing processes that extend the life span of existing products, reduce waste and contribute more meaningfully to the circular economy. The acquisition includes Mack’s new energy-efficient German facility, featuring solar power generation that will support ATC’s activities to reduce the overall carbon footprint of its manufacturing operations.

Treharne enhances ATC’s electrification and battery life cycle management capabilities

Launching the new lab facility increases ATC’s global capabilities to support EV battery life cycle management.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. – ATC Drivetrain (“ATC”), a leading independent global remanufacturer of automotive powertrain and drivetrain systems, announced today that it has launched remanufacturing capabilities for electrified vehicle systems at its Oklahoma City, Okla. facility to serve the North American automotive market.
The investment allows ATC to remanufacture batteries and electric drive units for hybrid and battery electric vehicles. The move represents the next step in the company’s electrification strategy and builds on the competencies and processes initially developed in the United Kingdom. ATC currently remanufactures batteries and drivetrains for electric vehicles at its facility in Cannock, England.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and ATC Drivetrain officials announced today the company has selected Knoxville as the location for its newest manufacturing facility.
ATC Drivetrain, a leading global independent remanufacturer of automotive powertrain and drivetrain systems, will invest $8.3 million and create 218 new manufacturing jobs in Knox County over the next five years. This is the latest of several new investments ATC Drivetrain has made recently, including the implementation of new technologies and capabilities in the global battery and electric vehicle powertrain market and an increased presence in the commercial vehicle market.
ATC Drivetrain offers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) a local solution by utilizing a combination of progressive engineering and state-of-the-art equipment to produce like new transmissions and engines. The site is scheduled to begin production in April 2022 and will support the company’s growing remanufacturing and battery life cycle management businesses.
Founded in 1938 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, ATC Drivetrain supplies remanufacturing products and services to various international blue-chip automakers. In addition to operations in Europe and Asia, the Knoxville facility will be ATC’s third manufacturing facility in the U.S. ATC currently operates two manufacturing facilities and a distribution center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
